IPTV 4K: what you need to watch in Ultra HD
4K needs three things to line up: a 4K TV, a device that decodes 4K streams, and a steady connection. Here’s how to check yours before you order.
- Around 25 Mbps per 4K screen
- Works with 4K Firestick and Android TV
- Up to 4 screens per order

Your 4K checklist
A 4K TV with an HDMI port that supports 4K at 60 frames per second. Most TVs sold in recent years qualify; check the port labels on the back. A 4K-capable device: the Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max, a recent Android TV box, or a 4K Apple TV. Basic HD sticks can’t output 4K, whatever the stream.
A steady connection of around 25 Mbps per 4K screen. Wi-Fi is the usual weak spot: a cable from your router, or 5 GHz Wi-Fi in the same room, makes the biggest difference. Finally, a player app that handles 4K. TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro both do on capable devices; our player comparison explains the differences.
