Best IPTV app for Samsung TV: options and setup
Samsung TVs run Tizen, so Android apps like TiviMate aren't available. The usual choices are IBO Player and similar players from the Samsung Apps store, which link your playlist through a website. A Firestick is the simple alternative.
Step-by-step setup
Samsung makes some of the most popular TVs, but its Tizen system doesn’t run Android apps. That rules out TiviMate and the regular IPTV Smarters Pro app. You still have two good routes: a player from the Samsung store, or a small streaming device plugged into the TV.
Route 1: a player from the Samsung Apps store
-
Open Apps and search
Press the Home button, open Apps, use the search icon and type the player’s name, for example IBO Player. Select Install.
-
Note the MAC address and device key
Open the app. It shows a MAC address (and often a device key). Take a photo of the screen with your phone.
-
Add your playlist on the website
On your phone or computer, go to the player’s official website, enter the MAC address and add your playlist: paste the M3U link or enter the Xtream Codes details we sent. Our IBO Player guide shows each screen.
-
Restart the app
Close the app completely and open it again. The channels and TV guide load from your playlist.
Route 2: plug in a Firestick
A Firestick or an Android TV box gives you TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and every other Android player, with faster updates than the TV’s own store. If your Samsung is a few years old, or if a store app keeps letting you down, this is often the better experience.

IBO Player
The most common choice on recent Samsung TVs. Free trial, then a paid activation. You add your playlist on its website using the TV's MAC address.

Other Tizen players
Apps such as Smart IPTV, SET IPTV or Duplex Play work the same way (MAC address plus website). Availability depends on your TV's model year and country.

Common problems
- The app isn't in the store
- App availability varies with model year and region. If you can't find a player on an older TV, plug in a Firestick or an Android TV box instead.
- Playlist doesn't appear after adding it online
- Check you used the MAC address shown in the app on this TV, then close the app completely (or restart the TV) and open it again.
- Picture freezes
- Samsung TVs often have modest Wi-Fi. If there's an Ethernet port on the back, use it. Read the guide
