IPTV not working? 10 quick fixes that actually help

Updated 2 min read

When IPTV stops working, the cause is usually on your side and quick to fix: a restart, a typo in the login, a full device or an outdated app. Work through the ten checks below in order; most problems are solved in the first five. If nothing helps, message us with a photo of the error.

Before contacting anyone, run through these ten checks in order. They’re sorted from the quickest fix to the most involved, and most problems disappear by step five.

1. Restart everything

Switch off the TV device (Firestick, box, smart TV) and your router, wait 30 seconds, then turn the router on first and the device second. It clears more problems than any other step.

2. Check your internet

Open a video on another app on the same device. If that struggles too, the problem is the connection, not IPTV. See our guide to fixing IPTV buffering.

3. Re-enter your login

Login errors usually come from one wrong character. Type the server address, username and password again rather than pasting them, and check for a space at the end. The server address needs http:// and the port. Our Xtream Codes vs M3U guide shows what each part should look like.

4. Check your plan dates

If everything stopped at once, your plan may have reached its end date. Message us on WhatsApp to check.

5. Count your screens

Each device watching at the same time needs its own connection. If a third screen starts while your plan covers two, one of them will stop.

6. Update the player app

Outdated apps break when the service changes. Update from the app store, or reinstall the latest official version on a Firestick.

7. Clear the app’s cache

On Fire TV and Android TV: Settings → Applications → Manage installed applications → your app → Clear cache. Don’t clear data unless you’re ready to sign in again.

8. Free up storage

A full device makes apps crash. Uninstall apps you don’t use and delete old installation files in Downloader.

9. Try the other stream format or player

In IPTV Smarters Pro, switch the stream format (MPEGTS or HLS) or the player in Settings. In TiviMate, try a different buffer size.

10. Test on another device

Install the same app on your phone and sign in. If it works there, the first device needs attention; if not, contact us.

Quick answers

Why does IPTV work on my phone but not on my TV?
The login is the same, so the difference is the device or its connection. Restart the TV device, check its Wi-Fi signal, update the player app and re-enter the login.
My IPTV stopped working overnight. What happened?
Check whether your plan has ended, whether too many devices are connected at once, and whether the app updated. Then restart the device and router.
Will reinstalling the app delete my subscription?
No. Your subscription stays the same; you just sign in again with the same details after reinstalling.
